REGIONAL lifestyle tea brand Tealive, has begun deploying Lifebuoy hand sanitisers to all its Malaysian outlets, including 200 with automatic dispensers, to ensure customer safety in collaboration with Unilever Food Solutions.
“We want to make them feel comfortable and safe, even in this pandemic era. Customers can also order and pay online before they arrive. Even those who come without pre-ordering can contactlessly order and pay at our store fronts before entering,” says Loob Holding Sdn Bhd founder and CEO Bryan Loo .
Unilever Food Solutions head of sales for Chain and CPU OEM, Frederick Tan, says the pandemic had made it even more crucial for the food industry to protect workers and customers and to strengthen food hygiene and sanitation practices.
“It is even more pertinent today to strengthen hygiene and sanitation practices outside the kitchen. By partnering with Tealive, and in providing our hand sanitisers, Lifebuoy is able to support them in helping to curb the spread of Covid-19 and ensure a safer environment for their customers, staff and delivery partners,” explains Tan.
Through the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan (USLP), Lifebuoy set itself the target of improving the hand hygiene practices of more than 1 billion people by 2020, a milestone which it surpassed in 2019.
Lifebuoy started advocating for greater emphasis on hand hygiene since the deadly pandemic began. Its campaigns have included visiting schools and educating pre-school and primary school children, as well as adolescents on the proper practice of hand hygiene.
Handwashing with soap is the first step to ensure good hand hygiene. Using hand sanitisers when soap and water is not available remains one of the most effective ways to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.
