Negeri Sembilan: The Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Ministry is targeting 1,600 potential franchisees and RM370 million sales at the Franchise International Malaysia (FIM) 2015 at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) from June 12 to 14.
Its minister, Datuk Seri Hasan Malek said FIM 2015 themed ‘Leap Beyond the Limits’ would be opened by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at the Tun Hussein Onn Hall, PWTC on June 13.
He said the exhibition would feature 110 booths, of which 32 would be taken by franchisors from seven countries, namely Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, South Korea, the US, Australia and Taiwan.
FIM2015, organised by the ministry with the cooperation of the Malaysian Franchise Association, is expected to attract 12,000 visitors, he said here Suday.
Reputed to be the biggest Malaysia’s franchise showcase and one of the biggest in Southeast Asia, the annual event is recognised by the World Franchise Council and the Asia-Pacific Franchise Confederation.
Apart from gathering local and international franchisers to showcase and promote their products and services, Hasan said FIM 2015 is a platform to build a franchise business networking, share franchise knowledge and ideas, and identify franchise opportunities.
He said several Memorandum of Understanding are expected to be signed at FIM 2015, while an international conference organised in conjunction with FIM 2015 would be attended by 300 local and overseas delegates.
“Other activities arrayed include business matching sessions, a barista competition by Gloria Jeans Coffee, a yogurt competition by Tutti Fruti, a cooking demonstration by Young Chef Academy, and a grooming session by Avon,” he said. – Bernama
