It is planning to open its flagship store in Jakarta by June, said its chairman Datuk Ahmad Shalimin Ahmad Shaffie.
He said MyFranchise is upbeat on its new venture, citing strong potential in the Indonesian premium coffee market.
“We are in the final stages of negotiation with a local party in Jakarta for the opening of the outlet,” he said at the opening of the company’s 37th outlet, here, yesterday.
Also present was MyFranchise chief executive officer Fauzi Awang.
MyFranchise is an investment arm of Perbadanan Nasional Bhd, which in turn, is an agency under the Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development Ministry. It is holds the master franchisee of the Gloria Jean’s brand in Malaysia and Brunei through its subsidiary Wonderful Lifestyle Sdn Bhd.
MyFranchise offers three business models — full store, kiosk and push cart — which requires initial capital of about RM100,000 up to RM500,000 each.
Locally, the gourmet coffee retailer plans to strengthen its presence here by opening more outlets and providing more franchising opportunities, especially to young entrepreneurs.
According to Ahmad Shalimin, there are plans to open eight more outlets this month, bringing the total number to 45.
The locations for the new outlets are mainly in the Klang Valley, Terenganu and Kedah.
