It looks like\u00a0Five Guys<\/a>\u00a0isn\u2019t the only American food-food chain that\u2019s coming to Malaysia. Taco Bell, a fast-food restaurant that\u2019s known for its tacos, burritos and quesadillas will be opening its first restaurant in Malaysia very soon.<\/p>\n

As discovered by\u00a0KL Foodie<\/a>, the first outlet appears to be at\u00a0Tropicana Gardens Mall<\/a>\u00a0which is\u00a0located<\/a>\u00a0right across Sunway Giza at Kota Damansara. The mall is also connected to Surian MRT station.<\/p>\n

So far there\u2019s no mention of its opening date and it isn\u2019t clear who\u2019s the franchise holder for Taco Bell in Malaysia. Taco Bell is a brand under\u00a0Yum! Brands<\/a>\u00a0which owns KFC and Pizzahut. At the moment, Malaysia\u2019s\u00a0QSR Brands<\/a>\u00a0has the right to establish and operate KFC restaurants in Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia and Brunei, as well as Pizza Hut in Malaysia and Singapore.<\/p>\n

It was\u00a0reported<\/a>\u00a0last year that Taco Bell is eyeing the Asia Pacific market for its global expansion. Taco Bell was previously available in Singapore but they had exited the market in 2009. At the moment, there are 7sevenTaco Bell outlets in the\u00a0Philippines<\/a>\u00a0and six outlets in\u00a0Thailand<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In December last year, the brand was reported to be looking at several new\u00a0Southeast Asian markets<\/a>\u00a0with plans to open stores in Malaysia and Indonesia in 2020. Siam Taco, the franchise holder for Thailand is also looking at expanding the brand in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam.<\/p>\n

Taco Bell was supposed to\u00a0enter Indonesia<\/a>\u00a0in April but there\u2019s still no sign of a store opening. PT Fast Food Indonesia which operates KFC in Indonesia is the franchise holder for Taco Bell in the country. It was reported that it aims to open five stores in Jakarta within the first year. \u2014\u00a0SoyaCincau<\/a><\/p>\n<\/article>\n
