{"id":4479,"date":"2016-04-12T18:22:47","date_gmt":"2016-04-12T10:22:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dclass.my\/masjid\/?p=4479"},"modified":"2016-04-12T18:22:47","modified_gmt":"2016-04-12T10:22:47","slug":"new-convenience-store-franchise-coming-to-malaysia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mfa.org.my\/mfa2020\/2016\/04\/12\/new-convenience-store-franchise-coming-to-malaysia\/","title":{"rendered":"New convenience store franchise coming to Malaysia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\"http:\/\/media.therakyatpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/FamilyMart-940x470.jpg\" alt=\"FamilyMart\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR, 11 April 2016:<br \/>\nQL Resources Bhd\u2019s wholly-owned unit, Maxincome Resources Sdn Bhd, has signed a franchise agreement with Tokyo-based FamilyMart Co Ltd for the development and operation of FamilyMart convenience stores in Malaysia.<br \/>\nIn a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, QL Resources said the expansion into the convenience store chain business with the established FamilyMart brand will open up bigger growth opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>QL anticipates to open the first FamilyMart in Malaysia by December 2016.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is also a strategic downstream expansion of QL\u2019s existing food manufacturing and distribution businesses that creates synergistic effect for the group.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It said the agreement was for 20 years and renewable for subsequent periods of 20 years each at franchisee\u2019s option.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe agreement is also conditional upon successful franchisee registration of Maxincome with Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>FamilyMart Co Ltd, the franchisor, is a listed company on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.<br \/>\nThe company, ranked as the second largest convenience store chain in the world, has 17,540 stores in seven countries worldwide as at 31 March 2016.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>URL :\u00a0http:\/\/www.therakyatpost.com\/uncategorized\/2016\/04\/11\/new-convenience-store-franchise-coming-to-malaysia\/<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; KUALA LUMPUR, 11 April 2016: QL Resources Bhd\u2019s wholly-owned unit, Maxincome Resources Sdn Bhd, has signed a franchise agreement with Tokyo-based FamilyMart Co Ltd for the development and operation of FamilyMart convenience stores in Malaysia.
