Goobne Chicken is a fledgling brand in Australia and is now ready to stretch its wings and expand around the country.
It’s another Korean chicken brand but with a difference – the meat is not fried but roasted without oil in a blazing hot oven. In fact the word goobne means baked.
The first company-owned outlet opened its doors at Darling Harbour last year, and the second store is set for a September opening next to East Village in Sydney’s inner city suburb, Zetland.
Further store openings will be available as franchises and the goal over the next 12 months is to open another six new quick service restaurant locations across Sydney with suburbs such as Epping, Chatswood and Strathfield target markets.
Interstate opportunities will open up once the brand has established its presence in New South Wales.
The ideal restaurant size is 100-130sqm with a focus on high delivery/takeaway opportunities. This is the model that has worked in the domestic market – now the brand has spread across Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Macao and Malaysia.
Goobne Chicken is part of the international Chatime Group and there are already existing Chatime franchisees who are lining up to open a Goobne restaurant as a way to expand their own business.
Franchisees can expect to pay between $450,000 and $550,000 for a franchise – it’s a turnkey operation, with leasing and marketing support among the benefits.
