KAJANG, Jan 17 (Bernama) — Wonderful Lifestyle Sdn Bhd, the master franchise partner of Gloria Jean’s Coffees in Malaysia and Brunei, aims to open 12 more outlets by year-end, bringing the total to 53.
Its chairman, Datuk Ahmad Shalimim Ahmad Shaffie said more people, particularly those aged below 35, were keen to become Gloria Jean’s Coffees franchisees.
“Currently, 40 per cent of our franchise outlets are run by the younger generation and we would like to see the number growing,” he told reporters at the opening of another outlet at Metro Point Complex here, today.
Expressing his optimism of the franchise industry despite the volatile economic condition, Ahmad Shalimim said Wonderful Lifestyle would see 25 per cent more outlet openings this year compared with last year.
“Hence, we expect a bigger sales figure. We are opening next outlets in Terengganu and Kedah,” he said, adding that plans were afoot to open another outlet in Brunei and the first one in Indonesia.
Wonderful Lifestyle is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Malaysia International Franchise (MyFranchise) Sdn Bhd, the franchise investment arm of Perbadanan Nasional Bhd, an agency under the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry.
