The Franchise International Malaysia 2023 (FIM2023) exhibition held from 18 to 20 May at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC), was a conducive franchise transaction platform for local and international entrepreneurs, with the participation of various franchise brands from the United States, Australia, Brunei, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan.
Being the largest franchise exhibition and conference in Southeast Asia, the organizers expected a potential franchise investment amounting to RM550 million throughout the program. Meanwhile, Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA) chairman Datuk Radzali Hassan said that MFA, as the co-organizer, targeted 15,000 visitors to the exhibition.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the FIM2023 Program organized by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) in collaboration with the Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA) was not only to promote franchise business and strengthen the local franchise industry but also to give franchisors the opportunity to expand their business network at the global level.
“It is also the most effective program to unite franchisors around the world through the sharing of experience, ideas and knowledge to improve the development of the Malaysian franchise industry,” he said in his speech at the FIM2023 Opening Ceremony.
Also present were the Minister of KPDN, YB Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, the Deputy Secretary General (Domestic Trade Development), YBhg Datuk Roziah binti Abudin and the Chairman of MFA, YBhg Datuk Dr. Radzali Hassan.
MFA Chairman, Datuk Dr. Radzali Hassan said, apart from the exhibition, FIM also highlighted several other activities such as franchise conferences, franchise briefing sessions called franchise pit-stops, edutainment activities and business matching sessions in the Franchise In-Buying Mission (FIBM). In addition, this program also received sponsorship from various parties including Q-Solve, Myeongdong Topokki, Ayam Penyet Best, Oldtown White Coffee, Mokti’s and Marrybrown.
