PUTRAJAYA, Feb 4 (Bernama) — The three-day Franchise International Malaysia 2015 (FIM 2015), starting June 12, 2015, is expected to attract RM370 million in investments compared with RM360 million last year.
Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism, Datuk Seri Hasan Malek, said the event would be held in cooperation with Malaysian Franchise Association at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
“The 22nd FIM 2015 is the biggest franchise event in Asia-Pacific and acts as a one-stop centre for domestic and foreign franchise industries to promote and expand trade network.
“This year, 110 exhibition stores are expected to be set up, of which 20 per cent of them will be foreign participants,” he told a media briefing after attending ‘Business Over Coffee — A Session with Franchisors and FIM 2015’ here today.
He said FIM 2015 was expected to attract 12,000 visitors and 300 international participants at the conference.
Hasan said the franchise sector has reached an encouraging level with 54 brands from the country penetrating 60 countries.
