Kuala Lumpur, 7 March,
The upcoming Malaysia Franchise Awards 2024 (AFM 2024) aims to recognise and celebrate franchise entrepreneurs who demonstrate competitiveness and deliver outstanding performance on a global scale.
The 26th edition of the event, which will be held on May 29 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, is supported by the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) in collaboration with strategic partners such as Q Solve, Bubblebee, Marrybrown, Oldtown White Coffee, Ayam Penyet Best and Little Caliph.
Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA) vice chairman Mohamad Shukri Salleh highlighted that the awards serve as a crucial benchmark for franchise companies, allowing them to assess their business performance against industry standards through a comprehensive evaluation.
The assessment encompasses integrity, business sustainability, financial agility, continuous innovation, and social impact, empowering Malaysian franchises to attain world-class status.
“Recognition received through AFM allows local franchise entrepreneurs to be identified as a competitive, progressive, and reputable system in establishing business chains, with high potential for expanding franchise businesses internationally.
So far, several companies have given positive feedback on nominations for this award. The MFA is seeking over 100 nominations for 21 awards in six categories,” he said
at a press conference here today.
Earlier, during the briefing session, AFM 2024 director, Associate Prof Dr Mohd Hizam Hanafiah said AFM 2024 will include several new categories, namely Best Single-Unit Franchisee of The Year, Best Multi-Unit Franchisee of The Year, Best International Single-Unit Franchisee of The Year and Best International Multi-Unit Franchisee of The Year.
“These new awards have been introduced to allow more franchise entrepreneurs to compete fairly and promote the best practises in the current franchise industry,” he said.
He said the AFM 2024 would be more prestigious this year with the presence of franchise representatives from around the world who will be attending the three-day annual convention of the Asia Pacific Franchise Confederation and the World Franchise Council from May 27 to 29.
Nominations are open to all franchisees, both MFA members and non-members, as well as interested organisations that are directly or indirectly involved in the franchise industry.
