7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd, the country’s largest convenience store chain, saw its net profit climb 11.6% to RM8.93 million in the first quarter ended March 31, 2018 (1QFY18) from RM8.01 million a year ago, on higher revenue, as well as improvement in gross margin by 1.3%.
This resulted in higher earnings per share of 0.8 sen, compared with 0.72 sen in 1QFY17.
Quarterly revenue also rose 2.5% to RM535.69 million in 1QFY18 from RM522.53 million a year ago, driven by the growth in new stores, higher customer counts and better consumer promotion activity.
“We expect to see further improvements in the next quarter by pursuing our core strategy pillars of operations excellence, cost management and commercial innovation,” the filing added.
