Bandung, 7 April 2018,
A total of 26 Malaysian franchises have successfully penetrated the Indonesian market, said Perbadanan Nasional Bhd (PNS) Board Member, Datuk Rosely Samsuri.
He said currently there were 647 Malaysian franchise outlets operating in the country.
“PNS encourages Malaysian franchisors to explore the Indonesian market, as the country has a population of 260 million, which offer huge potentials for our companies,” he said, adding that the agency was ready to provide the franchisors guidelines on doing business in Indonesia.
Rosely said the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism has organised a mission to Bandung, Indonesia to promote Malaysian franchise, in conjunction with the Info Franchise and Business Concept 2018 IFBC 2018 exhibition from April 6-9, 2018 here.
“The mission is the first franchise expansion mission in 2018. The IFBC 2018 is organised by P.T Neo Expo Promosindo, with the participation from franchise companies across various sectors,” he told Bernama.
Rosely said Malaysia’s participation in the mission involved three agencies under the ministry, namely, PNS, Intellectual Property Corp of Malaysia, Companies Commission of Malaysia and non-governmental organisations and the Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA).
The mission also included eight Malaysian franchisors which had the potential to penetrate the global market, namely Manhattan Fish Market, Coolblog, Aquanano, Meiko, Bangi Kopitiam, Arjuna Village, Celmonze and Otak-otak JB, he said.
“Aside from taking part in the exhibition, the ministry also held the Business Presentation and Business Pitching session, which was conducted by the MFA,” Rosely said. – Bernama
