Kuala Lumpur,
An investment potential of RM716 million in franchise businesses was recorded during the 31st International Franchise Exhibition and Conference Malaysia 2024 (FIM2024) held from May 30 to June 1, 2024 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).
Datuk Ewon Benedick, Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, stated that this achievement was the result of business package offerings from over 100 local and foreign franchise companies.
FIM2024 was attended by foreign franchise companies from 16 countries including Saudi Arabia, Australia, China, the Philippines, India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand.
He added that FIM2024 is the best platform for industry players to promote franchise business packages and expand businesses domestically and internationally through strategic discussions with potential franchisees and investors in attendance.
Themed “From Network to Net Worth in Franchising,” FIM2024 focuses not only on expanding franchise businesses globally but also on strengthening the country’s economic development.
FIM2024 has successfully attracted the interest of local and foreign entrepreneurs to venture into the franchise business sector as a branch of the 26/2024 economic growth.
This is evidenced by the exceptional response with over 30,000 visitors, a 50 percent increase compared to the previous year. The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDC) also announced that Malaysia hosted the Annual Meeting of the Asia Pacific Franchise Confederation (APFC) and World Franchise Council (WFC) attended by 22 foreign countries and from May 27 to 29, 2024.
