Kuala Lumpur, 10 August 2022,
Perbadanan Nasional Bhd (Pernas) started a franchise business club at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Pantai, Bangsar on Wednesday for Form 4 and 5 pupils to provide early exposure to franchising.
“The franchise business club members will be exposed to entrepreneurship, specifically franchising, through an explanation of the concept and its advantages compared to other types of businesses,” said Pernas acting chief executive officer Mazlan Ibrahim in a statement.
He said the corporate social responsibility initiative could also inspire them to consider starting a business after finishing school.
In conjunction with the launch of the club, an information corner was set up at the school’s resource centre as well.
Mazlan said the club’s activities will encompass three phases: introduction, exploration and conclusion.
The first phase will involve a seminar, Business in Transformation programme and career chance with Focus Point, which took place on Wednesday.
“The exploration phase will involve a visit to Menara Pernas to learn about the operations system, and from franchisors and franchisees of GJC and 1901,” he said.
In the final phase, 200 students who have finished their SPM will be offered a career with Focus Point or Komugi.
During Wednesday’s programme, Pernas and strategic partner, Focus Point, offered a free eye test to 40 franchise business club members and 200 students sitting for the SPM, as well as free spectacles to 100 students.
